As has become customary for AEW Dynamite on Wednesday nights, Orange Cassidy kicked off the show with a big title defense.
Defending his All-Atlantic Championship against Jay Lethal, Orange Cassidy was successful in the bout but as the referee escorted Lethal away from the ring, someone was lying in wait.
Jeff Jarrett emerged from behind Orange Cassidy and smashed him in the knee with a guitar.
While the Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) ran out to make the save, the damage was done to the champ.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, there are set to be major matches including a TNT Championship match between Wardlow and the winner of the Face of the Revolution ladder match, Powerhouse Hobbs.
Additionally, two major factions clash as Dark Order’s John Silver and Alex Reynolds take on Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli and Ruby Soho takes on Skye Blue.
