AEW President Tony Khan has now confirmed that a recent episode of Dynamite broke the promotion’s viewership record in the UK.
Khan took to Twitter to reveal that the August 12 airing of Dynamite: Quake By The Lake did record viewership in its 11pm timeslot.
Khan noted:
“In addition to a great summer domestically, it’s been a huge summer for @AEW internationally including great news that #AEWDynamite #QuakebyTheLake with @JonMoxley vs @IAmJericho for the @AEW Interim World Title + @CMPunk’s epic return did our UK record viewership on @ITV4 Friday.”
The episode, which originally aired on Wednesday August 10, was headlined by an interim AEW World Title bout, with Jon Moxley defending against Chris Jericho. After the bout, official World Champion CM Punk made his return to TV, confronting Moxley and setting up a title unification bout.
In its original time slot on TBS, this episode drew 972,000 viewers, with a 0.33 score in the 18-49 demographic.
Moxley and Punk are slated to face off on the August 24 edition of Dynamite.
