Real Reason For Major AEW Returns Revealed

Real Reason For Major AEW Returns Revealed AEW

The real reason behind two major AEW returns on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite has been seemingly revealed.

On the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Miro and Thunder Rosa returned to television and both wanted a word with Tony Khan.

With Tony Khan also promising that next Wednesday on TNT there’d a big announcement (and a follow-up on Dynamite later that day), and further hints of the return of CM Punk, all the threads appear to be in the process of being drawn together.

According to Fightful Select (subscription required), the returns of “Miro, Thunder Rosa and others incoming are directly tied to the debut of AEW Collision.”

Fightful Select doesn’t name the “others” in question, though Andrade El Idolo did take to Twitter to tease his own return during AEW Dynamite.

In the same report, Fightful Select would also note that Tony Khan’s big announcement is “tied to the reveal of AEW Collision.”

It was previously reported that there were “major plans” for the debut of AEW Collision, including a “marquee” match.

In the same report, it was noted that CM Punk has reportedly been pushing for a ‘huge’ match early on in his return, with the program against Chris Jericho being discussed, but Punk has reportedly pushed for another return opponent out of the gate.

It’s long been rumored that Collision would be debuting on Saturday, June 17 in Punk’s hometown of Chicago as a weekly Saturday night show on TNT from 8pm-10pm, but it looks like we’ll be getting the official answers on Wednesday, May 17.
