While Toni Storm and Penelope Ford battled on AEW Dynamite, they hit an interesting milestone for the AEW Women’s Division.
As noted by multiple Twitter users, this match occurred within the first hour of the broadcast which is a notable change for AEW Dynamite.
Often there is one women’s match that occurs within the second hour however for the third week in a row, the women’s match has taken place in the first hour.
Per Brandon Thurston on Twitter:
“This is the 3rd consecutive week where a women’s match happened in the first hour of Dynamite. Which has been rare prior.”
Toni Storm ended up picking up a victory over Penelope Ford, making the next title contender still unclear.
Toni Storm is the AEW Interim Women’s World Champion after AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa revealed herself to be injured and unable to compete at the AEW pay-per-view, AEW All Out.
Thunder Rosa was scheduled to face Storm at the pay-per-view however after she was unable to defend, Storm defeated Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida to become Interim champ.
