Two former WWE names were reportedly backstage at the March 26 AEW Dynamite taping in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Per PWInsider, Josh Matthews – who served as a ring announcer for WWE and TNA Wrestling – was backstage at the show. Matthews’ wife Madison Rayne works for AEW as a coach and producer.
The report didn’t clarify whether Matthews was just visiting the company, or if he’s potentially joining AEW.
Matthews finished up with TNA Wrestling earlier this year, with it first reported in February that he was parting ways with the company following his ten-year stint.
Also reportedly backstage was Perry Saturn, who was reportedly visiting talent who he had worked with over the course of his in-ring career.
Wednesday’s Dynamite episode was headlined by a women’s tag-team match which saw Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford defeat Thunder Rosa and AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm.
Bayne notably pinned Storm, ahead of the duo’s championship match at Dynasty.
AEW is currently building towards its Dynasty pay-per-view, which will emanate from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 6.
