This week’s pre-taped episode of AEW Collision is set to see some “emotional” story beats play out according to a new backstage report.
This week’s AEW Dynamite (January 15) aired live from the Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, with the promotion returning to the same venue tonight for a pre-taped edition of Collision, airing on Saturday, January 18.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Collision will be “an emotional one for longtime people in the company”, however, no details were given on why, only stating that the reasons “will play out in storyline at the tapings.”
Already announced for this edition of AEW Collision, once again dubbed ‘Maximum Carnage’, is a 12-Man Tag Team Match pitting the unlikely alliance of the Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & Wheeler Yuta) and The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho, Big Bill, & Bryan Keith) against the super team of Rated FTR (Cope, Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler), The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) and Powerhouse Hobbs.
Also, a Texas Death Match pitting Hangman Adam Page against Christopher Daniels has been announced for Collision.
The former interim EVP Daniels has recently returned the reigns of his on-screen authority figure role to Kenny Omega, who made his in-ring return on Wednesday’s Dynamite (January 15) in a winning bout against Brian Cage.
