AEW Star Renames Finishing Move AEW

A former WWE star has confirmed a name change for his finishing move, following his AEW in-ring return.

After returning to AEW on the January 7 edition of Dynamite, Andrade El Idolo wrestled his first match back with the company during the January 17 Collision episode.

Andrade was victorious over Angelico, pinning him after hitting his double-arm spinning neckbreaker, which he called The Message during his WWE run.

It was noted on commentary that Andrade is now calling this move the DM.

Andrade has now taken to Twitter to confirm the name change, writing:

Tranquila Night!! New finish name!! DM

Providing clarification, Andrade later tweeted:

The Name is “DM”

I didn’t ask you to send me DM, I said the name is “DM”.

Andrade aligned himself with the Don Callis Family on the January 7 Dynamite episode, with Jake Doyle (fka Jake Something) also joining the AEW faction.

AEW has announced a number of new signings in recent weeks, including Persephone, Mascara Dorada and Hechicero, who all hold dual contracts with AEW and CMLL.

Zayda Steel was the latest name to be announced as All Elite, with Tony Khan confirming her signing following Collision.
