An update has emerged on what’s next for Josh Alexander, following AEW and WWE interest after his departure from TNA Wrestling.
With Alexander announcing his retirement from independent wrestling ahead of his TNA Wrestling departure in February, it has been heavily speculated that he will sign with another major company like WWE or AEW.
While it was reported in February that many are expecting him to join AEW, Alexander hasn’t debuted for the promotion in the month following the report, and has been announced for the Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Northern Rising show on May 10.
Per Fightful Select, Alexander is still expected to be headed to AEW.
One source reportedly told Fightful that Alexander was likely working on getting his visa ‘squared away’, explaining why he’s still able to appear for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in Canada.
Alexander hasn’t wrestled since losing to Eric Young at the January 24 TNA iMPACT taping in a match which aired on the February 13 show.
Recently also making the TNA Wrestling to AEW jump was Speedball Mike Bailey, who wrestled his first match for AEW on the March 12 Dynamite episode against The Beast Mortos.
