AEW Tag Team Split Update At Full Gear 2024

AEW Tag Team Split Update At Full Gear 2024 AEW

To kick off the action at tonight’s AEW Full Gear 2024 pay-per-view, there was a four-way match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) looked to defend their championship against the Kings of the Black Throne (Malakai Black and Brody King), The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens), and The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum).

A big story of the match wasn’t necessarily the championship, but the issues between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens.

There have recently been some issues between the two as Caster has seemingly leaned more into being a heel, while also contemplating whether to accept MVP’s offer to join the Hurt Syndicate.

During his rap for their entrance tonight, Caster didn’t end with his usual “everybody loves The Acclaimed” line, but instead “everybody loves the best wrestler alive”, which is his own nickname that he holds a trademark for.

There was also some noticeable dissension during the match with some mistimed tags and general not being on the same page.

In the end, Private Party landed their Gin and Juice finisher on Caster to pick up the win and retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship, successfully defending their title for the first time.

Elsewhere set for tonight’s AEW Full Gear, Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship against Orange Cassidy.
