AEW ‘Good For My Soul’ Says Current Champion With Expiring Contract AEW

Current ROH World Tag Team Champion Dustin Rhodes says AEW is “good for my soul” despite having an expiring contract.

Fightful Select recently reported that current ROH World Tag Team and Six-Man Tag Team Champion Dustin Rhodes’ contract was set to expire this fall.

On the September 21 edition of AEW Collision, Rhodes and Sammy Guevara defeated Undisputed Kingdom’s Mike Bennett and Matt Taven in a Buckhouse Brawl to retain the ROH World Tag Team Titles.

Following his win, Dustin Rhodes took to social media to state how he believes AEW is “good for his soul.” He wrote:

I love @AEW!!

For 5 yrs I have been on this “One Last Ride”, and I have loved it. This place is good for my soul!

Meanwhile, Dustin’s tag team partner Sammy Guevara also took to Twitter to react to their win in the bloody match. He wrote:

You can’t get it all, unless you give it your all. Last night was crazy on another level

but in the end #AndStill your World Tag Team Champions!

After their successful defence, Guevara issued a challenge to Kazuchika Okada for an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match on the September 28 Grand Slam episode of AEW Collision.

If Guevara wins, he wants to challenge Okada for the title on the 5 Year Anniversary of AEW Dynamite on October 2.

WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Dustin Rhodes potentially re-signing with All Elite Wrestling when they become available.
