AEW star Buddy Matthews has called out a video advertising an upcoming premium live event.
It was announced during All In London weekend that AEW will soon be visiting Australia for a major show.
Next year’s Grand Slam event will emanate from the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia on February 15, 2025.
ESPN Australia & NZ have taken to Twitter to share a new AEW reel, noting that they will broadcast Collision from September 1, and Grand Slam Australia in 2025.
Matthews has now called ESPN out for the lack of Australian talent in the video, writing:
With not one Australian represented in the package! 👌
Several top AEW names have Australia connections, including former Women’s World Champion Toni Storm, who was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia.
AEW has now filed for two trademarks related to the upcoming international event, which you can read more about right here.
Clarification has also emerged surrounding the status of an independent standout who was rumored to be signing with AEW, which you can read more about at this link.
