Tony Khan has announced that AEW Grand Slam has already made history and the show hasn’t even started yet!
Taking to his Twitter account to confirm that the gate for tonight’s (September 21) event had already surpassed a major milestone, Khan wrote:
“Thanks to fans’ support, tonight’s AEW Grand Slam in New York City is the first @AEWonTV
event EVER to surpass $1 million in live ticket sales!“Thank you to everyone here tonight + thank you to everyone watching Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TONIGHT on @TBSNetwork !
“See you soon!”
AEW Dynamite special Grand Slam edition is set to feature a stacked card including a new AEW World Champion being crowned in either Jon Moxley or Bryan Danielson.
Elsewhere on the card, the AEW Tag Team Championships are on the line as Swerve in Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) defend against The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) as well as a big Interim AEW Women’s World championship match.
Current AEW Interim Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm attempts to fend off three challengers on tonight’s Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite including Athena, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Serena Deeb.
