There was a fiery conclusion to tonight’s AEW Dynamite as Hangman Adam Page set Swerve Strickland’s childhood home on fire.
The main event segment of the show was set to feature a contract signing segment between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland.
However, after Page’s music played twice and he did not appear, something was clearly amiss.
Hangman would appear on the big screen, notably at the same location that many fans had seen Swerve Strickland talking about earlier today.
On social media and shown in brief earlier in the show, Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana had been filmed at Swerve’s childhood home which he had said he just purchased.
Swerve noted the property was sentimental to him, recalling fondly the trees in the yard and how the family had lost it due to foreclosure.
Marking an achievement to be able to get it back, the vignette was heartfelt but served as a tease for what was to come later.
As it was revealed that Hangman Adam Page was currently at the home, he would go on to deride Swerve while pouring gasoline throughout.
In the end, he would go outside and sit in an armchair with an end table and a libation as he lit a match and set the house on fire. You can see a video of what took place below.
Back in the ring, Swerve Strickland was clearly distraught as the rivalry between the pair before their upcoming AEW All Out 2024 match heated up.
Page and Strickland look to settle their long-running feud in a steel cage match at the Saturday, September 7 pay-per-view, AEW All Out 2024.
