AEW’s Brian Pillman Jr has provided a health update on Varsity Blondes teammate Griff Garrison who has been sidelined since October 2022.
Garrison would undergo surgery for the undisclosed injury back in December 2022.
Speaking to Fightful, Pillman Jr would reveal where Garrison is at in his recovery and when he expects him to be able to step back into the ring.
Pillman Jr said:
“He’s great, I just talked to him. He’s about three weeks out from bumping.
“So, in about three weeks, his body will be able to withstand the punishment that the business places on our bodies. Which means he’ll be very healthy in about three weeks.
“I’m very excited for him. As you know, Griff’s a great athlete, such a great looking kid. We had a big history, big future together, so I’m looking forward to seeing what happens when he comes back.”
In Garrison’s absence Pillman Jr formed an alliance with Brock Anderson, with the pair last defeating The Wingmen on AEW Dark in March.
While Pillman Jr has compensated for Garrison’s time on the shelf he would tease a potential twist when he is ready to return to an AEW ring.
“You never know, there could be a surprise. There could be a turn, there could be a twist.”
While Pillman Jr has mostly been in action on AEW Dark recently, he as well as others on AEW’s stacked roster will no doubt be keen to find out the status of AEW’s potential new wrestling show Collision.
The rumored primetime Saturday show will reportedly not only see the return of CM Punk, but also a brand split for AEW’s roster, possibly opening up more doors for current talent.
