Former AEW Women’s World Champion has revealed the real reason for her recent in-ring absence, sharing an injury update.
Thunder Rosa has been re-establishing herself on AEW TV this year, with the star returning from a 16 month absence due to a back injury in December 2023.
Rosa has now confirmed that she is currently dealing with another injury.
The former champion confirmed on Busted Open Radio that she is dealing with a concussion, noting that she’ll be out of action for “a couple of weeks” while she recovers.
Thunder Rosa hasn’t wrestled in September, with Rosa last wrestling on the August 31 edition of AEW Collision.
Rosa faced off against Hikaru Shida, Queen Aminata and Serena Deeb in a fourway match to determine the #1 contender to Mercedes Mone’s TBS Championship.
Shida ultimately won this bout, pinning Aminata to earn a shot at the CEO’s gold. Shida went on to unsuccessfully challenge for the TBS Title at the September 7 All Out pay-per-view.
