An AEW star has confirmed that he suffered an injury during his return appearance at ROH Final Battle 2024.
Bandido made his wrestling return at Friday’s (December 20) pay-per-view, warding off Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Bryan Keith who were attacking Matt Cardona following Jericho and Cardona’s ROH World Title match.
Following this appearance, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Bandido had suffered a concussion during this segment, with Meltzer writing the following in a previous Wrestling Observer Daily Update:
“We are told Bandido did suffer a concussion Friday night from landing on the back of his head doing a missile dropkick after the Chris Jericho win over Matt Cardona.
“Obviously Jericho vs. Bandido was scheduled in an ROH title match at some point. With concussions, you don’t know what it means as far as how long someone will be out of action.”
Bandido has now confirmed that he’s injured, taking to Instagram to note that he’ll be out of action until he has no more brain inflammation.
Opening up about his injury and return appearance, Bandido wrote:
“What a weekend! I can only thank God for allowing me to wake up one more day after everything happened! The blow was in a delicate area of my head, now we only have to wait until there is no brain inflammation.
“Thanks to all my people who have been sending me message asking for my current status!! It has been hard to deal with myself these days, too much frustration invades my head. The toughest battle of my life is coming, with myself!!
“The only thing I can tell you is that I will try to return a thousand and one times to the ring!! So I achieve it at some point or stay trying…!
“Neither you, me, nor anyone will hit as hard as life but it doesn’t matter how hard you do it! No matter how hard you resist and keep moving forward, that’s how you win” ROCKY BALBOA

Bandido hasn’t wrestled since the June 14, 2023 Rampage taping, where he lost to Konosuke Takeshita in singles action.
We wish Bandido a safe and healthy recovery.
