AEW Injury Confirmed To Be Storyline AEW

Following an apparent write-off from AEW, an injury to House of Black’s Buddy Matthews has been confirmed to be a storyline.

On the June 15 edition of AEW Collision, Buddy Matthews seemingly suffered a knee injury during the House of Black vs. Bang Bang Gang trios main event.

Despite Matthews being escorted backstage, Malakai Black and Brody King were able to pick up the win over the Bang Bang Gang thanks to interference from PAC.

Post match, Christian Cage and The Patriarchy appeared on the big screen to reveal they had attacked and taken out Matthews.

According to PWInsider Elite, the Buddy Matthews injury on AEW Collision was 100% a storyline work.

The report notes that this angle was done for Buddy to take time off so he could travel back to Australia with his fiancee, WWE’s Rhea Ripley, for a family event.

There is no word when Matthews is scheduled to make his return to All Elite Wrestling at the time of this writing.

WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Buddy Matthews’ AEW return when they become available.
