Buddy Matthews has shared an injury update after last appearing at AEW Grand Slam Australia on February 15, 2025.

Matthews and his wife, Rhea Ripley, started their honeymoon shortly after the AEW debut in Australia, with the WWE star commenting on her husband’s ankle injury.

During AEW Grand Slam Australia, fans became concerned when Matthews was seen limping after his match against AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada.

Matthews has now shared an update on his injury through his Instagram Stories, revealing that he’s currently in a walking boot.

The image, which can be seen below this news story, shows the walking boot on his injured foot, along with the caption:

“I’m like 1/2 Iron Man.”

As previously reported, it appears that Matthews rolled his ankle during his match.

Rhea Ripley recently addressed Matthews’ injury while sharing a post about their honeymoon together.

At the time of writing, it isn’t clear when Matthews will be cleared for an in-ring return.
