AEW Interest In Samantha Irvin After WWE Departure Update

An update has emerged on potential interest from AEW in ring announcer Samantha Irvin following her WWE departure.

Irvin announced her exit from WWE on social media earlier today, reportedly to the surprise of talent at Raw today.

As reported in a follow-up story from Fightful Select, numerous sources in both WWE and AEW said they “would be shocked” if AEW didn’t make an attempt to hire Irvin, but there’s nothing confirmed to be in the works as of yet.

Irvin’s fiancé Ricochet left WWE and joined AEW a couple of months ago upon the expiration of his contract.

There were people in WWE who did expect her to leave after Ricochet did considering the “ease of schedule on their family”.

Irvin at this point has not actually stated a reason or motivation for her leaving WWE, or what her contractual status was at the time of her departure.

“Everyone” Fightful spoke to in WWE had high praise for Irvin both before she made the announcement and after – with her being described by one source as “a presence that made the work day better”.
