AEW Star Played Pivotal Role In Getting WWE Star Signed WWE/AEW

AEW’s Jon Moxley played a pivotal part in getting Karrion Kross signed with WWE according to the Final Testament member.

Kross signed with WWE in early 2020 and would remain with the company until his release in November 2021.

He would return in August 2022, alongside Scarlett, and would go on to be drafted to WWE Raw in the 2024 Draft back in April.

Before being signed with WWE, however, Kross had been a fixture on the independent wrestling scene, which is how Moxley became involved with the star.

Moxley and Kross faced each other at FSW Natural Born Killers in July 2019, with the match going to no contest.

With Moxley’s WWE contract having expired on April 30, 2019, he would make his AEW debut on May 1 of that year.

Seeing the potential in Kross, Moxley offered him an opportunity to connect with Triple H about his future.

Speaking with Sam Roberts on Not Sam Wrestling, Kross revealed the conversation he had with Moxley, saying:

“After the show, he basically says, ‘Listen, I’m not telling you where to go or where to make money. I’m just saying, you really should call Triple H. You could make a very very good living there. Work wherever you want. Go wherever you want. I just have a feeling that if you call him, things are going to be good for you.’ ‘What do you mean just call Triple H?’ ‘Just call him. Just call him. I’m giving you his number. I want you to call him.’

“I sent him a text. He calls me. ‘Is this really Killer Kross?’ We talk and a few months later, I was in NXT. That’s kind of how it happened. Everything just aligned. I was getting messages from every direction of the universe to go to WWE.”

Kross would also reveal that he was also in talks about a potential move to AEW with his wife Scarlett, saying:

“My wife [Scarlett] and I were talking to Cody (Rhodes) about potentially going to AEW at the same time. Now, I’m just like, ‘Oh God,’ but I had Jon right in front of me telling me to do this. It’s the first time we worked, we don’t even know each other. He’s definitely not telling everybody to do this. I feel I should pay attention to this.”

He would make his WWE in-ring debut on May 6 2020 defeating Leon Ruff and would go on to be a two-time NXT Champion.

As NXT Champion, he would also make his main roster debut in July 2021 appearing on WWE Raw.
