Jurassic Express AEW Presentation Update Following Reunion

An update has emerged on Jack Perry and Luchasaurus’ presentation as Jurassic Express following their recent AEW reunion.

Jack Perry made his return at AEW All Out on September 20 after almost a year away, reuniting with Luchasaurus.

While he may no longer be Jungle Boy, Perry embraced his Jurassic Express teammate and the fans basked in the moment to Baltimora’s Tarzan Boy.

In a recent interview Vice, Perry reflected on bringing back that theme, despite having a “different look”, saying:

“I think the song is here to stay. It’s funny ’cause I was thinking about that. I was like, ‘I don’t know, we have a different look.’

“The thing that solidified it for me was that people were singing it before we even played it.

“I looked, it’s been like three years, like a thousand something days since Luchasaurus and I have been on screen together.

“I’ve been off about a year, I was the Scapegoat before this, I’m wearing all black with a knife on my belt. He’s in all black, and people are singing that song.”

Perry would go on to discuss influences outside of AEW and how the juxtaposition of the lighthearted and the darker aspects of what he’s seen could play into the choice to keep the theme, stating:

“I think in the time that we had it, it cut deep with people. I think there is an interesting thing when I watch shows, I get a lot of inspiration from shows and movies, but I just watched this show, Hunting Wives on Netflix.

“What I really liked about it was on the surface level, it’s this community and they’re all happy and they go to church, then underneath it, there’s all this dark kind of undercurrent going on.

“White Lotus is another show like that. There’s lighthearted funniness to it and happiness and whatever, and it’s silly. Then there’s murder going on underneath it all.

“I’m interested in experimenting with the duality of something like the song and our new presentation.”

Perry and Luchasaurus last teamed up in June 2022, losing the AEW World Tag Team Championship to The Young Bucks on the Road Rager episode of Dynamite.

They are set to appear on the AEW Dynamite 6th Anniversary Show, which takes place on October 1.
