A nixed AEW pitch for Kenny Omega’s return earlier this year have been revealed, with Omega pitched to work with a currently absent star.
Omega made his wrestling return at NJPW Wrestle Dynasty in January, defeating Gabe Kidd after over a year away from the ring following his hospitalization due to diverticulitis.
He made his AEW in-ring comeback on the January 15 edition of Dynamite, defeating Brian Cage in singles action.
With Omega going on to feud with the Don Callis family, ultimately winning the International Championship from Konosuke Takeshita, details have now emerged on another feud pitched for Omega following his return.
Per Fightful Select, there were some ideas “floated around” for Jack Perry to work with Kenny Omega following Omega’s AEW comeback which didn’t come to fruition.
Perry hasn’t wrestled for AEW since dropping the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at the November 2024 Full Gear pay-per-view.
He last wrestled at NJPW Wrestle Dynasty, unsuccessfully challenging for Yota Tsuji’s IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship.
