Japanese Wrestler Reveals Top AEW Star Inspiration AEW

A Japanese wrestler name has named the AEW star that they want to use as inspiration for their future goals.

Maki Itoh made appearances in AEW throughout 2021 and 2022, starting in the AEW Women’s World Title Elimination Tournament in February 2021.

Speaking to Fightful, she revealed her plans for the future, saying:

“The current goal is to win the Princess of Princess Championship.”

The Princess of Princess Championship is a Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling title that was introduced in October 2015 with the inaugural champion being crowned in January 2016.

The inaugural champion was Miyu Yamashita and the current champion is Mizuki, who won the championship on March 18 2023 at Grand Princess ’23.

Itoh would go on to discuss her inspiration, naming a top AEW and NJPW star, stating:

“The second goal is to be like Kenny Omega, making Match of the Year, year after year after year. Best Bout Machine Maki Itoh.”

Omega is the current IWGP United States Champion having defeated Will Ospreay at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January 2023.

Dave Meltzer would give the match six and a quarter stars, adding to Omega’s legacy as the Best Bout Machine.
