AEW’s Kenny Omega Teases Teaming With Former Rival Against Young Bucks AEW

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has teased teaming with NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi against The Young Bucks.

In May, Kenny Omega made a brief return to All Elite Wrestling to address The Elite for their attack on AEW President Tony Khan.

This led to The Elite’s Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry and The Young Bucks attacking Omega and pushing him off a stretcher. Since then, Omega has been absent from AEW television with The Elite holding three titles in the company.

In a new video for New Japan Pro Wrestling, Kenny Omega met up with his former rival Hiroshi Tanahashi for a “reunion.”

During their conversation, Omega teased teaming with Tanahashi to face Matthew and Nicholas Jackson at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, 2025. He said:

“The Young Bucks are very egotistical, but that used to be me, so I’m not angry, per se. I want revenge, but through my own wrestling.”

“If I can rehab, I want the Young Bucks and if he’s up for it, then I want to be in the ring with (Hiroshi) Tanahashi. As a partner, not an opponent.”

It remains to be seen when Kenny Omega will make his return to AEW programming at the time of this writing.

Meanwhile, The Young Bucks will team Jack Perry to face Katsuyori Shibata and Private Party in trios action on the October 4 edition of AEW Rampage.
