Details of an imminent big push for a popular AEW have emerged thanks to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave gave details of the plans for Konosuke Takeshita.
He would state that:
“Takeshita, big push on the horizon some day soon.
“Probably not this week because Bryan Danielson has to win every match until February 8.”

Whilst there weren’t any details beyond those two sentences, it’s worth noting that Takeshita has been regular presence on AEW Dark, AEW Dark: Elevation and AEW Rampage.
He made his first appearance at the non-televised The House Always Wins house show in 2021 before appearing on AEW Dark: Elevation in April 2021.
Takeshita would return to AEW a year later, in April 2022, facing and defeating Brandon Cutler on AEW Dark: Elevation.
Recently, he’s faced and defeated the likes of Frankie Kazarian, Angelico, Aaron Solo and Ari Davari.
In tag team action, he’s scored victories over Eddie Kingston & Ortiz whilst teaming with Jun Akiyama and would team with Ethan Page, Isiah Kassidy, Matty Hardy & Top Flight to defeat The Trust Bustbusters (Jeeves Kay, Slim J & Sonny Kiss) and The Wingmen (Cezar Bononi, Peter Avalon & Ryan Nemeth.)
