AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita is making his return to DDT for his first match of 2025 to take place in Japan.
Takeshita is no stranger to the DDT ring having competed there throughout 2024 and previously holding the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship on four occasions.
The AEW star will be returning on January 3 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan ahead of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19.
DDT announced Takeshita’s appearance, though not his opponent, in a tweet that can be seen below this news story which reads:
“Jan 3rd Korakuen NEWS!
“AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita returns to the Japanese DDT mat for the first time in 6 months!”
New Year Dramatic Parade will mark Takeshita’s first time in at a Japan DDT event since July’s Wrestle Peter Pan where he defeated Masato Tanaka.
Takeshita will also be at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4 facing the NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi.
A victory for Takeshita in that match will see him at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, defending against Tomohiro Ishii.
