AEW’s Kota Ibushi Update After Hospitalization & Surgery AEW

AEW star Kota Ibushi has shared an update after recently being admitted to the hospital, as he continues to recover from injury.

Following his match against Josh Alexander on the October 11 episode of AEW Collision, Kota Ibushi revealed that he had suffered a broken femur.

Ibushi would recently reveal that he was making good progress on his recovery, suggesting that he may return sooner than expected.

In a new update on his progress, Ibushi would state that he was recently admitted to the hospital but was able to avoid a planned two-week stay.

In a post shared on Instagram, Ibushi shared the timeline of events surrounding his hospital visit and surgery, stating:

“I was admitted to the hospital four days ago. I woke up the next day… because I had endured too much general anesthesia, but I managed to shorten my planned two-week stay to three days. I went home without a long stay!”

Following a string of hashtags that included “#MiraculousRecoveryDNA” among others, Ibushi would reveal that the screws came out of his surgically repaired leg, writing:

“The screws came out. This time, they were firmly fixed in two places. Absolute rest!

“They told me several times to rest completely, but I’m doing it my own way. I’m so grateful to be allowed to rehab freely.

“Thank you for the surgery. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, AEW. To my mother, I’m sorry. And thank you. See you again sometime.”

The post on Instagram would be accompanied by photos of Ibushi in a hospital bed with a mask, his repaired leg and a short video howing him walking with the aid of crutches, which he allows to drop in the final moment, raising his arms triumphantly.

It was recently reported that Ibushi’s injury saw a planned match with Kenny Omega against The Young Bucks scrapped.
