AEW Star Opens Up About ‘Nerve-Racking’ Presentation Change

In the space of just a few weeks, AEW’s Kyle Fletcher has undergone quite the presentation change as the star seeks to distance himself from Will Ospreay.

October 23 saw Fletcher shave off his own hair on AEW Dynamite to prove he is nothing like his former friend Ospreay.

More recently, he crossed paths with Mark Davis, who had returned from injury with Fletcher inviting his Aussie Open teammate to join the Don Callis Family.

Bring us right up to date, Fletcher has ditched another aspect of his presentation, swapping his leggings for trunks.

He posted about the change on Twitter, attaching three photos showcasing his new ring attire, as can be seen below this news story, with the caption:

“making their debut; my thighs”

Fans would share their opinion of the new look Fletcher in the replies, with responses including “When you hear voices, in your legs…” and many other Randy Orton-themed comments.

Fletcher has now revealed his thinking behind his new look during an appearance on the CHGO Chicago Blackhawks Podcast, saying:

“I was pretty happy. I think everyone was pretty shocked by the thighs. I get very nervous and anxious…if you think about, the whole idea and changing appearance and new gear all stemmed from my brain. I didn’t get a lot of input from a lot of people. It’s my brain child, really. I’m debuting this new thing that I created in my brain. Only a few people, up until the day of, had seen it.”

He would also open up about the fan reaction to the trunks, revealing his girlfriend Skye Blue was among those who designed them, stating:

“The people who designed and made the gear, Skye Blue, a couple of friends.

“For the mass population, it was their first time seeing it. It was very nerve-racking, but the reaction was polarizing, which I think is probably the best thing you can ask for. A lot of people hated it and made noise about it, that makes me happy.”

Kyle Fletcher will, no doubt, be showcasing his new ring gear at tonight’s AEW Dynamite when he teams with Konosuke Takeshita to take on Ricochet and a mystery tag team partner.
