# AEW Star To Be Added To Faction?

An AEW star could be set to join a faction, with the faction leader teasing a new addition to the group.

The Don Callis Family continues to be a presence on AEW television, with the head of the faction clearly having an eye on potential additions.

With fourteen members to the faction at the time of writing, no members have been added since the former Jake Something [joined in January](https://wrestletalk.com/news/new-aew-signing-seemingly-confirmed/) of this year.

Don Callis has now shown that he has his eye on a star who unveiled a new persona for his AEW return at Revolution on March 15.

With Lio Rush bringing his independent wrestling “Blackheart” persona to AEW, Callis would cast his attention towards the star, [tweeting](https://x.com/TheDonCallis/status/2036242517591527680):

*“PAPI LIKES BLACKHEART”*

Clarifying his point, the tweet would be followed up by a separate message in a post accompanied by a promo image of Rush, [reading](https://x.com/TheDonCallis/status/2036252936167186931):

*“WOW”*

Rush was recently in singles action for the first time since December of last year, facing a man who is no stranger to the “Blackheart” moniker Tommaso Ciampa on the March 18 episode of AEW Collision, with the recently returned star losing that outing.

## More Than Just A New Presentation

The new persona that Rush has embraced has seen quite the reception online, with the AEW star himself noting over [20m interactions](https://x.com/IamLioRush/status/2036275101524512884) in under 24 hours.

Having debuted back in 2014, it’s been quite the journey for Rush, who saw his talents brought into WWE around three years later, competing on NXT.

A move to the main roster saw Rush as the hype man for Bobby Lashley, someone the highflyer believes he will [cross paths](https://wrestletalk.com/news/aew-wwe-teammates-bobby-lashley-lio-rush/) with again, before he would end his WWE career back in NXT and a release due to COVID-19 budget cuts in April 2020.

Rush would initially sign with AEW in May 2021, only to find his tenure come to an end with his contract expiring in February the following year, entering a period of free agency.

Discussing his first run in AEW, Rush would call it a ‘disaster from the jump’, noting that the timing wasn’t right for him due to his mental state at the time.

With time spent in NJPW and Impact Wrestling, Rush has clearly found the person he sought to be, with Dustin Rhodes commenting on the embodiment of the new persona as a ‘horror film’.

A former WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Rush would win the Super Jr. Tag League 2022 with Yoh over in New Japan, with his TNA Wrestling run seeing him become an X Division Champion.
