Former AEW Star To Make WWE Return ‘Imminently’ WWE/AEW

Former AEW star Malakai Black has recently been a topic of conversation in WWE and an update has now emerged on his return.

Black’s AEW contract expired on February 9, 2025, with him being removed from the official website roster page shortly thereafter.

Along with Miro, it was recently reported that Black was a topic of conversation in WWE creative ahead of a return.

While there has been no official announcement that the former Aleister Black is heading back to WWE, an update has emerged in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer has stated that Black should be returning to WWE “imminently”, according to his sources.

Further details of when and where this could happen were not revealed, although Black is a free agent, as previously reported.

Black was released by WWE in June 2021 and would go on to make his AEW debut in July of that year at the Road Rager episode of Dynamite.

In 2022, Black revealed that he had requested his release from his AEW contract, although it was not granted.
