Backstage Reaction To ‘Tricky’ Upcoming AEW Change AEW

A top star has revealed the backstage to the upcoming roster split that will divide stars between AEW Dynamite and Collision.

Rumors and reports of an AEW roster split have been swirling for a while now, with it unclear if the plan is a “soft” or “hard” split.

Matt Hardy has addressed the backstage feeling about the roster split that he previously described positively, suggesting it would give more time for more members of the roster.

With Dave Meltzer having recently written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required) that the nature of the roster split “changes every day and will continue to change until the show is on the air”, it’s probably to be expected that members of the AEW roster are somewhat anxious about what is going on.

Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy said:

“People want to plan vacations and family time and trips and whatnot and it’s kind of tricky because as of now everybody kind of has to leave everything open.

“So, I’ll be happy when Collision gets here and they kind of have really a good lock on what roster is on Dynamite and what roster is on Collision, there’ll be some guys that float back and forth.”

Hardy would go on to say that doesn’t know what the plan if from Tony Khan when it comes to the split rosters with it being suggested that there has been nothing confirmed at the time of the podcast.

He would comment on the schedule he and other members of the roster currently enjoy in AEW, adding:

“I hope it’s a pretty regular schedule so the guys that are involved can live a regular life.”

AEW Collison debuts in Chicago on June 17 and is widely expected to see the return of CM Punk.
