AEW’s Matt Hardy has shared his honest thoughts on the decision for Brock Lesnar to end the Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak.
Since the shocking moment at WrestleMania 30 in 2014 when Lesnar dealt Undertaker his first loss at the Show of Shows, fans have debated whether or not it was the right call.
While some thought that the win added to Lesnar’s dominant aura, others criticised the booking decision, arguing that the win should’ve went to a younger star.
Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy noted that he was shocked when the moment played out, but in hindsight, thought it was a brilliant call.
Hardy said:
“I think Brock is the guy that should have beat him. On top of Brock being such a legitimate badass (by) beating him, they got so much greatness out of Brock over the next ten years or so. So yeah, I think it was a good call.”
Lesnar is still presented as one of WWE’s top powerhouses. The Beast will next be in action at Saturday’s Elimination Chamber show, against Bobby Lashley.
