AEW Star Reveals Advice On Legitimacy From WWE Hall Of Famer WWE

An AEW star has revealed the advice that they received from a Hall of Famer during their time together in WWE.

Matt Hardy recalled the Hardy Boyz feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin in the early 2000s and how working with the Texas Rattlesnake was beneficial to both he and Jeff.

Speaking on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, he revealed that he had “learned a lot of things even in chatting with Steve” and that “beyond a shadow of a doubt it was good for us.”

Diving in the time period further, he would go on to talk about the advice, saying the main thing was:

“Just to be more aggressive. He said, ‘In your comebacks, instead of throwing a punch, you throw a pretty good punch, but I want you to just take someone’s head off with a clothesline, it looks a lot more vicious, and I think the more vicious.

With Austin’s belief that being aggressive is what gets a better response from the audience at the show, Hardy went on to say:

“Once again, he really emphasizes about working smart and being aggressive and physical.

“Like, ‘people have to believe that you can really whip someone’s ass, so your punches and your kicks and strikes, they need to look good it’s not always about these high spots.

“You built in certain moments that are going to be remembered in a certain way, but your work needs to be really solid”

Hardy would suggest that Austin wanted fans to believe in the aggression and think that they wouldn’t want to get in a legitimate fight with him as a result.
