AEW’s Mercedes Mone Comments On WWE Evolution PLE Return

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has commented on the long-awaited return of the WWE Evolution premium live event.

On Sunday, July 13, Atlanta, GA’s State Farm Arena hosts WWE Evolution 2025, marking the all women’s PLE’s return seven years on from the inaugural Evolution event.

One of the stars who competed at the original WWE Evolution event was current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) who, along with Bayley and Natalya defeated The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan) in a six-woman tag team match.

With Evolution’s return right around the corner, Mone discussed the event during a recent Instagram Live stream and said “its about time” WWE brought it back:

“I think it’s about time, they waited way too long to have an all women’s pay-per-view, but I love and will always be a big advocate for women’s wrestling, so I am excited for that”.

AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm is another name who competed at the inaugural WWE Evolution, defeating IYO SKY in the final of the first Mae Young Classic tournament.

Storm will defend her AEW Women’s World Title against Mone at AEW All In Texas, which takes place the day before WWE Evolution on Saturday, July 12.
