AEW’s Mercedes Mone Reveals Her Hope For WWE Raw On Netflix AEW/WWE

Current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has revealed her hope for WWE Raw’s move to Netflix in January 2025.

WWE recently announced that Raw will once again be a two-hour program for the first time in 12 years starting in October. The two-hour runtime will reportedly last until the final WWE Raw on USA in December 2024.

The show will then move over to Netflix starting in January 2025, taking it from cable television for the first time in its 31-year history.

For Mercedes Mone’s entire run in WWE, Monday Night Raw was a three-hour program, with the former multi-time Women’s Champion having the opportunity to headline the show on several occasions prior to her departure from the company in 2022.

In the latest Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes Mone discussed the decision to make the show two-hours once again and her mixed feelings about the move. She said:

“Now, let’s talk RAW. Word is that it’s dropping from 3 hours to 2, and honestly, I’ve got mixed feelings about it.”

“I’ve always loved having that extra hour because it gives more performers a chance to shine. Losing that time could mean fewer opportunities for the roster.”

“It’s hard enough for talent, especially women, to get TV time. The silver lining could be Netflix.”

“With Netflix, I’m assuming (and hoping) there will be many new ways to showcase talent.”

“In the end, I’m about more opportunities for talent, which leads to more entertainment for fans and more money for the business. It’s the best way for all to win – especially the roster and fans,”

It is currently unknown whether WWE Raw will remain a two-hour show when the program moves to Netflix next year.

As for Mone she is now in her fourth month as AEW TBS Champion, last competing in a win over Hikaru Shida to retain her title at All Out 2024.

Elsewhere in the Mone Mag newsletter, Mone praised WWE’s Natalya as the “gatekeeper of wrestling,” which you can read at this link here.
