AEW Star Plans To Own Wrestling Company AEW

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has revealed that she wants to be a “woman of change” in the wrestling world and has set out her vision.

The C.E.O has revealed that, in a very real sense, she sees herself as a future leader in the wrestling business behind the scenes.

Speaking to actress and podcaster Katee Sackhoff, Mone revealed that she wants to own her own wrestling company.

On the recent episode of The Sackhoff Show, the AEW star explained how she wants to be a shareholder in the future, saying:

“I always said back in the day that I wanted to be a shareholder and be a part of helping and creating.

“So yeah, I definitely want to help own a wrestling company one day and be the woman of change and voice of change over there for any wrestling company that wants to have me.”

Mone started training in 2008 and signed with WWE in June 2012, making her televised NXT debut in December of that year as Sasha Banks.

The NXT Women’s Champion got her main roster call-up in July 2015 as part of the “revolution” in WWE alongside Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

A five-time WWE Raw Women’s Champion and former SmackDown Women’s Champion, she would also be the inaugural (and three-time) Women’s Tag Team Champion going on to depart the company in December 2022.

She would sign a contract with AEW in February 2024 and make her official debut in March of that year going on to win the TBS Championship in May.
