Real Reason For AEW Entrance Music Changes Revealed AEW

An AEW star has reacted to her first match under contracted starting with a new theme song, only to finish the match with her old music.

Mina Shirakawa was confirmed as a new AEW signing during the episode of Dynamite before Double or Nothing in May 2025.

Her first match under her new contract saw her compete with Women’s World Champion ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm, AZM, Skye Blue at AEW Dynamite Spring Break on May 14.

Shirakawa would enter with new theme music only to have her old theme played after she victorious in the match.

Tony Khan would confirm that he had made the decision to switch the music, responding to the online reaction to the new theme.

During a recent appearance on Close Up With Renee Paquette, Shirakawa addressed the change of music and how the new track came to be, saying:

“Returning to AEW, I wanted to change something. My friend made me a new song, I love that track, but maybe my fans preferred my old one because it’s very iconic.

“After the match, I asked Tony ‘So, my music, what happened?’ He said he loved the old (music).”

Shirakawa would go on to face Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Double or Nothing on May 25 although was unsuccessful in her bid to claim the title.

June 4 saw Shirakawa team with Toni Storm in a winning effort over Julia Hart and Skye Blue on AEW Dynamite.
