Last week, reports came out regarding Warner Bros Discovery telling AEW to ‘tone down’ the language on AEW Dynamite.
AEW issued an update on the report, noting that this quote may have simply been ‘taken out of context’ from the mandatory talent meeting back on August 24.
PWInsider noted today that the AEW talent received an email discussing a number of points from the company meeting, including being careful not to use curse words on live TV.
This rule was immediately broken by AEW coach Ace Steel, who dropped an f-bomb during his impassioned promo with CM Punk on last night’s show.
PWInsider is noting that Steel immediately returned backstage after the promo, taking responsibility for the error. Steel agreed to a fine, which was paid and, according to the company today, will be donated to a charity.
Furthermore, PWInsider notes that the communication from AEW today pointed out and praised Ace’s immediate reaction as an example of how to deal with errors and accept responsibility for them when they accidentally occur.
