An AEW name will be inducted into the 2300 Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame on the upcoming episode of Collision.

The news was revealed after AEW Dynamite went off air on August 27, with Taz and the fans at the venue known as the ECW Arena not aware of what was about to happen.

As reported by PWInsider, the majority of the AEW roster came out sporting the Team Taz Dojo T-shirt as War Machine by Kiss played.

With Taz’s wife and real-life son, the returning HOOK, also joining proceedings, the fans chanted “Thank you, Taz”.

Tony Khan would then appear and say that he couldn’t think of a better way to end the first night of the AEW residency at the 2300 Arena than by paying homage to the “greatest legend in the history of this building”.

Khan would then recount how, as a thirteen-year-old, he had been in the building with a Taz T-shirt, with the ECW name being a hero to him and fans around the world.

Taz would note that it was nice that his wife and son had “kayfabed” him, stating that it wouldn’t have been the first time he was “worked” in the 2300 Arena.

The two-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion would go on to thank AEW and the fans, saying that the company has the extreme fighting spirit of the 90s with a bigger roster and a lot more money.

Reflecting on his memories in the former ECW Arena, Taz would say that, despite making a living from speaking, he was rendered speechless by the announcement of his induction and the love that was shown to him.

As noted by PWInsider, ECW alumni currently in the 2300 Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame includes “Terry Funk, Sabu, The Public Enemy, Tod Gordon, The Sandman, Shane Douglas, The Pitbulls, Chris Candido, Eddie Gilbert, Tommy Dreamer, The Blue Meanie, Jerry Lynn, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, 2 Cold Scorpio, Rob Van Dam, The Dudley Boyz, Road Warrior Hawk, ECW Arena fans and long-time ECW Producer Charlie Bruzesse.”

AEW Dynamite on August 27 marked the first time that Taz had been there since April 2000 at ECW Cyberslam.
