AEW stars Jack Perry and the Young Bucks have addressed their surprise cross-promotional appearance.
The trio appeared at Saturday’s NJPW Resurgence event, following Eddie Kingston dropping the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship to Gabe Kidd.
Following the match, Jack Perry distracted Kingston by walking down the ramp, while Matthew and Nicholas Jackson attacked Kingston.
AEW has now shared a video featuring the trio backstage following the attack.
Sharing a message for Kingston, Jack Perry said:
“Surprise, Eddie. You threw your hat in with the wrong team on Wednesday night. I was surprised because Eddie Kingston’s a real one.
“Everyone knows that Eddie Kingston tells it how it is, right? But you sure didn’t hesitate to jump in bed with a bunch of fakes who pretend to represent what AEW is about. You just paid for that right now and you’re gonna pay again, next Wednesday night, and you’re going to pay again at Double Or Nothing, and you are going to pay again and again and again and again, until The Elite decides that your debt is paid.
“Because we all have to sacrifice, Eddie, and you’re about to lose everything.”
The Young Bucks also took to Twitter to comment on their appearance, writing:
New Japan, it’s been a minute. #theELITE
Outside of Forbidden Door crossover events, The Young Bucks haven’t wrestled for NJPW since Wrestle Kingdom 13 in 2019. Following this event, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega left NJPW to form AEW.
Matthew and Nicholas Jackson will team up with Jack Perry and Kazuchika Okada to battle Kingston, Bryan Danielson and FTR in an Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing.
