AEW
An absent AEW star, sidelined through injury, is expected back in the near future according to a new report.
As previously reported, Orange Cassidy was noted as injured back in April with a torn pectoral muscle injury.
An update has now been provided for the status of the two-time AEW International Champion via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
According to Dave Meltzer, Cassidy is expected to make a return “somewhat soon” having undergone surgery in March.
While it wasn’t clear when he suffered the injury, Tony Khan addressed the situation during the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum back in April.
Khan noted that an “injury bug” had seen Cassidy and Jay White both sidelined in a relatively short period of time.
Cassidy’s last match was on March 19, seeing him compete in the AEW International Championship Eliminator Tournament.
That AEW Dynamite match saw Cassidy in a four-way against Ricochet, Mike Bailey and Mark Davis.
Orange Cassidy has previously been described as a “quiet leader” in AEW by Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders.
WrestleTalk will provide updates on Orange Cassidy and his return as they emerge.
