AEW/TNA
AEW star Ortiz has shared his honest thoughts on former tag team partner Mike Santana capturing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
After chasing the gold throughout 2025, Mike Santana finally captured TNA’s biggest prize on October 12, 2025 when he defeated WWE’s Trick Williams in the main event of TNA Bound for Glory 2025.
The achievement capped off a remarkable rise for Santana, who had long been known as a tag team wrestler throughout much of his career, including his past run in TNA as a member of LAX and in AEW, both of which saw him paired with Ortiz – a relationship that broke down prior to Santana’s AEW exit.
During an interview with Wombreezy, Ortiz was asked for his thoughts on Santana’s TNA World Title win, with the 34-year-old describing his former partner’s achievement as “pretty awesome”:
“I think it’s pretty cool. He set out to achieve something and he achieved it, so pretty awesome.
“Obviously our history at TNA it made sense, we had such a great run there. We were treated as main event calibre guys, so when he went back he was treated as such and it’s cool that he was able to achieve that.”
