AEW
An AEW star has teased a championship match in another company following the events in Mexico this weekend.
CMLL Domingo Familiar took place on November 23 at Arena Mexico and saw multiple AEW stars in action.
JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey) were victorious over Angel de Oro & Soberano Jr, while Mascara Dorado retained the World Historic Welterweight Championship with a win over Komander.
The CMLL Heavyweight Championship was also on the line, with Gran Guerrero facing off against AEW’s The Beast Mortos.
With Guerrero retaining the championship, the result caught the attention of AEW’s Powerhouse Hobbs, who seemingly saw a challenge in his future, tweeting:
“Hmmm…🤔”
A former TNT Champion, Powerhouse Hobbs is yet to make his CMLL debut, although did compete at Grand Slam Mexico in June of this year.
One-third of the AEW World Trios Champions, Hobbs is a member of The Opps alongside fellow champions Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata.
He recently lost a Falls Count Anywhere match against Hangman Adam Page on the Blood and Guts episode of AEW Dynamite.
Hobbs wouldn’t fare well against Page during his Steel Cage match with Joe at Full Gear this past weekend, however, The Opps leader went on to claim the AEW World Championship thanks to an assist from HOOK.
Post-match, Swerve Strickland would make his return, sending The Opps fleeing and standing tall with his former foe, Page.
