AEW’s Powerhouse Hobbs Legitimate Injury Status Revealed AEW

The January 29, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite saw changes to the show due to the injury status of Powerhouse Hobbs.

Hobbs appeared on the show via a pre-taped segment where he promised to send Big Bill to hell after the events of AEW Collision, as can be seen below this news story.

With Hobbs stating he “wasn’t cleared to compete” on AEW Dynamite, it now appears there’s more to this story than the pre-tape suggested.

Fightful Select has reported that Hobbs was actually present at the VBC Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama.

Not only was he actually at the AEW Dynamite venue, he was apparently “willing to perform” on the show.

Coming off the bag of the 12-man tag team match on the January 18 episode of AEW Collision, highlights of which can be seen below, it was stated that Hobbs had stitches that had not healed up.

As a result, he would reportedly require another week before he could be medically cleared to compete.

Hobbs had previously been missing from AEW television between April 2024 and November of that year due to injury.

The report also notes that Hobbs was “heavily factored” into events on Dynamite and the upcoming episode of AEW Collision with a “domino effect” being the result of the changes to both shows.

Spoilers for AEW Collision on February 1, 2025, which saw the return of another injured star, can be found here.
