AEW Star Reveals Who Came Up With His New Name

An AEW star has revealed how a top star and delays helped shape their new character following their break from a popular stable.

Until November 25 2022, Preston Vance was better known as 10 in the Dark Order, choosing to turn his back on the stable on AEW Rampage.

He would join with RUSH and Jose the Assistant as the newest member of La Faccion Ingobernable and subsequently be re-named Perro Peligroso.

The former 10 addressed the origins of the new names and the much-delayed character debut on AEW Unrestricted, revealing:

“I’ll touch on right now who gave me the awesome name (Perro Peligroso) and it was actually Chris Jericho came up with it. So, whatever he says is like gold because he’s been doing it forever.

“Any advice Jericho gives, I’m listening to and then he kind of helped a lot with the whole unraveling of it. I would go to him every week, sit in his office and man, we were supposed to do it months before it happened and you know, stuff out of everyone’s control just kept happening.

“We were gonna do it in Jacksonville because that was kind of the home of AEW for a while so I thought it’d be cool to do it there and we had Thanksgiving weekend in Chicago and I’m like, well that’s a huge, huge show, huge weekend, perfect.

“So, I feel like the Dark Order, we weren’t going anywhere so I wanted to do something.”

Vance would go on to discuss working with RUSH and Jose the Assistant in La Faccion Ingobernable, saying:

“I never knew RUSH before this or Jose (the Assistant). RUSH is honestly probably top five funniest guys in the locker room. He’s the best.

“His charisma’s out of control so, I don’t know, we’re having fun though. I like working with them a lot. It’s different and also a learning curve because my Spanish is not fluent or very existent at all. So it’s fun to put stuff together with him.

“Jose is a huge help with the translating stuff obviously. But I will give RUSH credit. He does say he practices his English every single day and you can tell each week, he gets way better.”

For those wondering, Perro Peligroso translates as “Dangerous Dog”.

Since December 2022, Vance has been a fixture on AEW Rampage, AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation.

He has also made appearances on recent episodes of ROH on HonorClub.
