AEW are co-producing two tribute shows, dedicated to the late Dean Rasmussen from the DVDVR website, who passed away in 2023.
Rasmussen was the founder of Death Valley Driver Video Review and passed away in May 2023.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Way of the Blade podcast, Phil Schneider and Tony Khan announced two tribute shows in collaboration with AEW, saying:
“What we’re announcing here is not just a DEAN~! 2 but a DEAN~! 2 and a DEAN~! 3 in collaboration with our friends at AEW.
“The first one is going to be May 24th outside of the Scottsdale Arena at 8 p.m. (local). It’s going to be a free show.”
It was also revealed that AEW stars would be among the talent working the upcoming tribute shows, stating:
“Mad Dog Connelly is going to be on the show, Gringo Loco is going to be on the show. Coven Of The Goat.
“We’re going to have some AEW wrestlers and make some unique matchups with AEW guys and indie guys.
“We’re going to put on something very cool in Arizona.”
A venue was also revealed for the DEAN~! 3 show, with it taking place at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia in September.
According to F4W Online, the plan for both the tributes shows is for them to stream on the ROH YouTube channel.
Khan would go on to state he was hoping to run the show around ROH Death Before Dishonor on September 5, 2025, at the ECW Arena.
DEAN~! 2 takes place the night before AEW Double or Nothing, which is set to take place at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on May 25, 2025.
Khan and Schneider both stated they would work together to come up with a match card for the shows.
DEAN~! 2 follows ACTION DEAN~!!!, which took place on April 5, 2024, results of which can be found here, courtesy of Fightful.
