AEW has announced a surprise championship match for this week’s (December 9) episode of AEW Rampage.
On tonight’s pre-ROH Final Battle media call, Tony Khan addressed last week’s record low AEW Rampage rating.
He then said to expect some ‘big cards’ for the show in the coming weeks to help turn the tide.
The first big announcement for the show came when former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley announced that he would be in action on this week’s episode of the show.
In the opening match of tonight’s Dynamite, Kip Sabian cheated to eliminate Orange Cassidy from the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal.
Later on in the show, Orange and Sabian took part in a backstage interview, where Cassidy challenged Sabian to an All-Atlantic Championship match on Rampage.
Sabian said that, after an attack from Dustin Rhodes in the Battle Royal, he would not be fit to challenge Cassidy on the show.
Cassidy then told Sabian to find someone who is, which Kip seemed to agree to.
