Sharp Drop In Viewership For Saturday April 22 AEW Rampage AEW

After a strong showing on April 14, the recent episode of AEW Rampage has seen quite a sharp drop in viewership.

As previously reported, the April 14 episode of AEW Rampage saw an audience of 639,000 viewers. This is up from the April 7 edition that drew 340,000 viewers.

The April 14 episode marked the highest total viewership for the show since the September 24, 2021 episode.

Meanwhile, the April 22 episode would see much lower viewing figures for the special Saturday show according to figures from Wrestlenomics.

Without the ratings boost from the Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat NBA game that took place on TNT prior to Rampage airing, AEW Rampage scored 371,000 viewers on April 22.

It secured a 0.12 rating among the all-important 18-49 demographic and was #26 in the chart for original cable programming for that demographic.

The show was aired on Saturday night due to NBA playoffs taking the usual Friday evening slot with the episode featuring Jon Moxley defeating Christopher Daniels and Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal & FTR overcoming Varsity Trustbusters.

Also on the episode, Vikingo retained his AAA Mega Championship against Dralistico.

A Saturday night AEW Rampage is a rarity in the schedule, though AEW are still planning a permanent fixture for that evening.

It was recently rumored that  TNT would likely host the program.
