
The backstage reaction to the possibility of Sasha Banks joining the AEW Women’s Division has been revealed in a new report.
According to Fightful Select, there are several interesting details to the currently evolving Mercedes Varnado story, formerly known as Sasha Banks.
With recent reports that Mercedes Varnado could be appearing at Wrestle Kingdom, there is renewed buzz that the former Banks could actually be All Elite bound after all!
According to the report, several sources within AEW were excited about the possibility of Mercedes joining the roster.
Making note that having her on their show weekly would be ‘another anchor’ for their women’s division, bringing in new eyes and help viewership.
Interestingly there was an interesting announcement for AEW Dynamite set for January 11th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Current AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. challenged Saraya to a tag team match, noting that she needed to find a partner.
Renewed fascination in Varnado’s next steps come on the heels of reports earlier today that she is set to appear at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 17.
