AEW Star Pulled From Upcoming Show Due To Injury AEW

A change of plans has been revealed for CMLL Viernes Espectacular on March 7, 2025, as AEW’s Red Velvet has been pulled due to injury.

Red Velvet was announced as competing on the upcoming episode of the weekly CMLL show but has had to withdraw from the appearance.

She would have teamed with Lady Frost in the CMLL Women’s World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Match.

In the February 19 episode of CMLL Informa, Red Velvet appeared to reveal she would no longer be appearing.

Further details on the injury are unknown at the time of writing, although a replacement was revealed for the ROH Women’s World Television Champion.

Shortly after Velvet revealed she wouldn’t be on the upcoming show, Taya Valkyrie revealed that she would be replacing her on March 7.

This marks the first time that Valkyrie has competed in CMLL and the first time she will team with Lady Frost.

The pair have faced each other in singles and tag team matches in AEW and ROH with Valkyrie holding two wins over Frost in one-on-one matches.

The upcoming Eliminator Match also features Las Valientes, Kira & Skadi, and Johnnie Robbie & Viva Van.
